Tsurupinsk Birthday Card Program

Program Description:

Tsurupinsk Children’s Home consists of two orphanage buildings which are home to more than 125 mentally and physically disabled children.  Sadly, these children do not receive anything for their Birthday.   An Orphan Smiles would like to provide Birthday Card greetings to each and every child at Tsurupinsk on his or her Birthday.

If you or your group is interested in helping to send Birthday cards to children at Tsurupinsk, please contact our Birthday Card Coordinator at birthday@AnOrphanSmiles.org.   Please let our coordinator know if you are an individual or group, approximately how many children you would like to help, when you would like to create your cards, and if you would like to do this as a one time project or as an ongoing project.

What's Involved:

You or your group will receive the name(s), ages(s) and birth date(s) of your assigned child(ren) from our Birthday Card Coordinator.  Included with this information will be a Return Mailing date.  This mailing date will be the date that the cards should be mailed back to the Coordinator.  Please keep this in mind when requesting children, allowing enough time to create cards.

The cards can be homemade or store bought blank cards with a message written inside.   You will be provided a listing of standard birthday greetings translated into Russian and instructions on how to include a personal message, if desired.   The children also can read Ukrainian.  Additional inserts like photos and/or drawings are also encouraged.

Please also email our Birthday Card Coordinator if you have any general questions about the program and how to sign up!

Thank you for your interest in the Birthday Card Program.
